Hi there, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as I did! Now we go back to work, sit in our four-square-foot cubicles on a Monday morning, and think: “How much longer till the weekend, when I’ll be able to lie back and relax?” And then, before we know it, we’re back here at our desks once again, counting down until the next weekend!
Well, wipe those little pouts off your faces! The holidays may be over, but that does not mean we are all frozen, paralyzed or jailed in our cubicles until the snow melts away during these stale last months of winter!
When it snows outside, what do you see? Are you the person who only notices nasty brown slush, invading your space and disrupting your usually hassle-free sidewalk? Or are you the person who sees the beautiful white flakes, infiltrating every inch of the landscape, until they create a beautiful white masterpiece? The vacation might be over, but that does not mean the festivities have ended! No ladies and gents…they have just begun!
Okay, people, here’s the plan:
Every other week until mid-March (or when it officially feels like spring again), you and I will plan and host a party; each one will have a more original theme than the one before. This way, we can be a lot more productive at work than we were before (when we were just waiting for the week to end, so that we could come back and wait for it to end again, and again, and again… arghhh!) Now, each week, we will be busy planning our series of “Get Me Through the Brown Slush” wonderful winter bashes!
I am going to post details & ideas of the first “Get Me Through The Brown Slush” on Monday. Every week, I will keep you updated on the next upcoming party on our schedule. Feel free to post your own ideas or even come up with the next new party theme! The style will become repetitive and boring if it is the same person (I, your humble correspondent!) who plans the party each time. So, please, blow me and everyone else away with your creations!

I hate the cold and snow, but I love parties and I love winter food!!
) Anyway, we had a bunch of different flavors of hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, little squares of Hershey’s chocolate bar, Andes mint chocolates, and whipped cream. We used Smarty’s square white mugs, which I LOVE. (You can also put out “to-go” cups so your guests can take a drink out the door with them when they leave, if they want.)
At the last party I hosted, we had a hot chocolate bar. It was a huge hit. (It was such a hit with my husband that he insisted we keep it up all year round lol… I said it can stay through the winter.
I can’t wait to hear about more party themes!!
