Calling all wedding planners and DIY brides!
Itching to have the wedding champagne toast in style without that hefty price tag? You’re in luck! We have a fun, simple, and inexpensive, yes, inexpensive, bride and groom champagne flute DIY that is swoon worthy.
Yields: 10 champagne flute DIYs
Approximate cost per champagne flute DIY: $4.25
What you need:
- Hot glue gun
- Champagne flutes – we used Classicware
- White tulle
- Silver diamond mesh
- Silver diamond flower mesh
- white 3/8″ grosgrain ribbon
- red 3/8″ grosgrain ribbon
- black 3/8″ grosgrain ribbon
Step 1: Wrap 3/8″ black grosgrain ribbon around the stem of the champagne flute and glue to hold in place.
Step 2: Wrap the 3/8″ white grosgrain ribbon around the top of the stem one time.
Step 3: Cut a piece of the 3/8″ black grosgrain ribbon approximately 2.5″ long and tie a knot in the middle – this is the groom’s bowtie.
Step 5: Cut a 2.5″ piece of the 3/8″ white grosgrain ribbon.
Step 8: Cut a 4″ piece of the 3/8″ red grosgrain ribbon.
Step 9: Fold the piece of red ribbon at a 90-degree angle so that about a 1/2″ of the ribbon is hanging down.
Step 10: Roll the rest of the ribbon.
Step 3: Cut one piece of the silver diamond flower mesh and glue it in the center of the semicircle.
Step 5: Cut 4″ pieces of white tulle and glue them to the tulle circle. Repeat until you have a nice thick “skirt / dress.”
Step 6: Cheers!
