diy baby’s breath wedding bouquets

DIY Baby's Breath Wedding Bouquets | www.SmartyHadAParty.com

Flowers can be an incredibly pricey component of a wedding. But beautiful bouquets and floral arrangements can be yours without breaking the bank. We’re going to show you how to make your own DIY baby’s breath wedding bouquets!

We love the simplicity of baby’s breath; it’s stunning, inexpensive, and available year-round, making it a fabulous choice for a winter wedding. To dress it up, you can spray baby’s breath with silver or gold floral paint like we did here. We used Design Master for flowers in sterling silver and 24K gold.

Another great way to save on flowers is by using the bridal party bouquets as centerpieces for the head table. Our large plastic carafes make the perfect vases for the bridal party to showcase their bouquets at the reception.

How to arrange your own wedding bouquets! | SmartyHadAParty.com

What you need:

Step 1: Trim stems of baby’s breath at an angle.

Step 2: Arrange pieces together one-by-one, intermixing the silver, white and gold to create a rounded cluster.

Step 3: Once you’ve formed a bouquet, hold the stems tightly and wrap the floral tape around them, starting at the neck of the bouquet.

Step 4: Cut a piece of organza ribbon about 8-12″ in length.

Step 5: Wrap the ribbon tightly around the stems, covering floral tape.

Step 6: Insert floral pins upward into stems to secure the ribbon.

How long before the wedding day can these be made and still look good?

    • Hi Maggie! Baby’s breath bouquets look good for 3-5 days when immersed in water so you can prepare these a day or two before the big day. 🙂 Make sure you put the flowers in room temperature water because if the water is too cold or too warm it could shock the flowers and they may not last as long. When is the big day?
