It’s a dreary, rainy day again. I guess that’s good for the trees and plants in the yard since we didn’t have much rain last year. I’d rather have snow than rain though since it is prettier to look at! We might as well make the most of it though, so let’s make some drinks!
Whether you are having Bunko, a book club or the whole neighborhood gang over for President’s Day, Smarty has a hot drink solution for you: Disposable Coffee Mugs. They go with every décor type and they are easy to clean up- just throw them in the recycle bin when you’re done with them. Along with your coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, put out some sprinkles of peppermint, chocolate shavings, cinnamon, brown and white sugar, sugar substitute and whipped cream and you’ve got a cozy, festive way to celebrate the day with your friends! Some fresh-from-the-oven cookies wouldn’t hurt either!
If you’re lucky enough to have snow, one way to enjoy this is to go out and get some snow. Take a bowl with you and make sure you’re getting it from a clean source. Make small, tightly compact, oval-shaped balls (small enough to fit in a glass). Put the bowl in the freezer until ready to use. When you’re ready to serve, put a ball in each glassand top with sparkling juice, Kool-Aid, or use it for your favorite cocktails such as a Margarita, Manhattan, Whiskey Sour or Cosmopolitan. (I guess this is why my dad always used to sing, “Let it rain, Let it snow, I don’t worry, No, No, No!!”)
